MarGen Speckle Park is owned and operated by Sheldon & Laura Martin along with our young family of four boys and two girls. We are located near the town of Belwood in the heart of Southern Ontario. Our #1 mission is to live our Christian faith and pass it on to the next generation as well as bless the lives of each person we meet. Sheldon is a partner in a Farm Drainage business and enjoys working with many clients in all forms of livestock and crop production. Laura thrives on being a 24/7 mom to our young crew and helping out on the farm. We feel very privileged to raise our family on the farm and the opportunity to work with our children at home.

We bought our first purebred Speckle Park cow in 2019 to add to our hobby cattle herd. As we learned to appreciate the qualities of the breed and saw the potential for Speckle Park cattle it soon became more of a passion than a hobby. In 2022 & 2023 we made significant investments into some top females selected from well-known herds across Canada. We also had the opportunity to acquire an exceptional herd sire to power our herd forward along with additional AI genetics. Our objective is to advance and market the best Speckle Park genetics to continue to move the breed to a greater market share. We believe we need to continue to breed cattle that can compete right along side any mainstream breed in the commercial market and add the additional traits of meat quality and efficiency that the breed is know for. We recognize and value the contributions of the breeders who have promoted and advanced Speckle Park since it’s beginning.
